Hi, I'm Tom! I am a native of the UK. I previously taught English in Tokyo for 18 months and studied Russian (among other things) at university. My passions include languages, history, heavy metal music and eating and sleeping to excess.

Cherise is from South Africa, and has always wanted to come to Russia and is so extremely grateful for this opportunity to be teaching here. She enjoys working with people from all walks of life. She aspires to broaden her life experiences whilst adding people-centric value at the same time.

Teaching is and has always been my main passion in life. I have taught a rider training and safety class to adults for the past thirty years. I also taught elementary school for ten years. I love teaching children because they are so eager to learn and because they readily absorb new information. This is my first adventure traveling outside of the USA. I am very happy to have this opportunity to live and work in Moscow.

Jill is from New York City and holds a Ph.D. in Slavic Languages from Columbia University.  She has spent the past two years in Daugavpils, Latvia teaching English and Russian as Foreign Languages and working as a translator and editor.  She has 12 years’ experience as a New York City elementary school teacher (grades K through 5). She has worked as certified TEFL since 2015.  Her interests include travel, literature, and cooking.

Jack grew up in a small town in the UK. After graduating from the university of London he moved to St Petersburg, Russia to study Russian. Alongside this he taught English for 2 years in St Petersburg in a number of different schools as well as for private clients. Jack holds a TEFL certificate and is excited to continue to improve as a teacher with SimplyEnglish here in Moscow.

Cameron comes from Perth, Western Australia, where he was born and raised. He completed a Bachelors Degree majoring in history from the University of Western Australia. He also has a TEFL certificate, and one year of teaching experience in Seoul, South Korea.

My name is Ben, and I'm from the UK. I've been teaching English in Moscow for two years now, and I've loved the energy & enthusiasm of the students, the vibrant city, and its warm-hearted inhabitants. Simply English is providing me with a great opportunity to teach, along with excellent support & security while living in Moscow. I'm very glad to be working with them!

Grant is a New Zealander who has recently returned to teaching having worked for many years in television production. He has BA and MA qualifications and is enthusiastic about the value of education. Grant enjoys travelling and experiencing different cultures and is eager to appreciate all that Moscow has to offer.

I earned my degree in English Literature from The University of Portsmouth with the hope of teaching abroad after graduation. I've always had an interest in Russia and I am thoroughly enjoying the experience. In my spare time I like to read and watch films.

Luke has been living in Moscow for almost four years and still loves the place. It took some time to discover his passion for teaching but he is glad he could realise it in a great city like Moscow. Outside of teaching, Luke enjoys football and is a recent convert to Lokomotiv Moscow.

Trevor

Trevor is from Portland, Oregon in the United States. He studied French, and second language education at the University of Oregon. He's just finished teaching and traveling for a year in Mexico. He enjoys cooking, reading, and studying languages. He's excited to teach in Moscow, and have the opportunity to learn more about Russian language, and culture.

Aleczander

UK

Aleczander is from London, England. He obtained his B.A from Bath Spa University and his M.A from Royal Holloway, University of London, both in Philosophy. He completed his TEFL in Poland last year and has since taught English in France. Alongside his studies, Aleczander had been teaching children and teenagers in the cities of Oxford and Bath. He has always been fascinated by Russian culture and hopes to use his experience in Moscow to one day complete a doctorate in Russian Philosophy. 

Zoey

USA

Zoey is from Florida in the United States. She has always been interested in learning languages and experiencing new cultures and for that reason moved to Spain right after university. For three years, she lived and taught English in Madrid. Living in Spain showed her how fun, interesting, and rewarding teaching English could be. She is very excited to learn as much about Russian language and culture as possible, while inspiring others to learn and improve their English.

Logan is a native of Ohio and graduate of Kent State University.  He completed bachelor's and master's programs in Political Science and Library Science and will pursue doctoral studies in the UK in 2020.  He is excited to be in Russia to absorb the culture and language and to teach students of all varieties.

Gerard is originally from Newfoundland in Canada, where he  obtained a B.A. in English Literature. Gerard has taught English in both Taiwan and South Korea, and is delighted to gain more teaching experience through Simply English in Moscow.

I studied Finance at London Metropolitan University and became a teacher in 2009, I have taught in South America and this is my 3rd teaching job in Russia. I enjoy teaching teenagers and primary school children and have good experience of business English.

Jordan is originally from North Carolina in the United States. His passion for learning languages and exploring new cultures led him to Madrid, Spain, where he has been teaching English for the past two years. There he discovered how much he enjoys teaching, especially young learners. He is excited to learn more about Russia, and of course to share his own culture and the English language.

Hannah is from Bristol in the UK. Prior to working with Simply English she has taught in Germany and the Czech Republic. She enjoys learning languages and about new cultures and is excited about everything Moscow has to offer.

Ostin is originally from Chico, California. He recently received a degree in History with a minor in Russian in 2019 at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Prior to working at Simply English he studied abroad in St. Petersburg, worked for a non-profit, and volunteered in Portland Public Schools. He is excited to teach in Moscow and explore the city's rich history.

Ryan is from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He obtained his Honours B.A. in 2012 and received his TEFL certification the following year. He has taught both children and adults in Germany and Canada. He is excited to work in Moscow and explore its rich history.

Has taught math and Spanish in San Jose, Costa Rica. After working in the technology and health care sectors got certified to teach English and is delighted to return to teaching abroad. Loves all things international and is looking forward to immersing himself into the Moscow experience.

Sean is a New York City native, growing up minutes away from the iconic Central Park. After being inspired by his high school history teacher, he decided to pursue a degree in Adolescent Education when he began university. Sean’s interest in Russian history and culture, as well as his desire for cultural exchange, motivated him to come to Moscow and work with Russian students.

Linda comes from the United States. She lived and taught third grade in Costa Rica, and lived for three years in Brazil. After pursuing a career in philanthropy and international development she decided to return to living abroad. She got her TESOL certificate and is thrilled to be teaching English in Moscow. She looks forward to immersing herself in the language, culture and social life of this amazing city.

Travis is from the state of Kentucky in the USA. He earned two BAs from Eastern Kentucky University in 2015, one in English and one in Broadcasting. Travis was working in an unrelated field when he began to teach English, and realized he loved it. He enjoys teaching English topics in business, technology, and working with young learners. He is excited
to learn more about Russia and Russian culture.

Viktoria

Viktoria was born in Moscow, Russia, but grew up in Anaheim, California. She completed her degree in Aerospace Engineering at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. After University she decided to pursue teaching english as a foreign language and fell in love with it. She enjoys working with teens and young learners and helping them grow. Viktoria has taught a variety of age groups in Beijing, China for a year and a half before deciding to move to Russia. She is excited to be in Moscow and is looking forward to teaching Russian students!

Kayla

Kayla is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Russian Language, Literature and Culture, as well as Political Science from Syracuse University in New York. Kayla was fascinated with the Russian language in High School and after learning some phrases on her own, decided to travel to Moscow to study Russian language and culture at Moscow State University after her first year of university in the US. In her third year of university, Kayla studied abroad at St. Petersburg State University to specialize in Russian language, culture and political studies. She is really looking forward to teaching and living in Moscow for the next year!

Rachel

Rachel is from the United States, but grew up in Poland and Greece. She has always loved traveling and learning the history and culture of new places. For the last three years, she has worked at an elementary school in the US, and enjoys working with young learners. She is excited to learn Russian while at the same time imparting her knowledge of English to students here in Moscow!

David

USA

David is an English teacher from Washington, DC, USA. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2018, having majored in Classical Studies and minored in Computer Science. He was conferred Departmental Honors for his Senior Research Paper on Cicero's Catilinarian Orations. David spent the past year studying Russian language at the Moscow State University Linguistic Center and plans to use his experience in those classes to shape his lessons. He is very excited to learn more about Russian culture and language and very much looking forward to teaching this year.

I am Jack I am from a town called Watford on the edge of London, I studied comparative literature and linguistics at Queen Mary University of London and have always been interested in forms of communication and understanding and working with languages. Aside from this my other main interests are in mushrooms and Japanese cinema.

Rachel

Canada

Rachel is from Edmonton, Alberta. It is the largest most northern city in Canada. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emily Carr University in Vancouver in 2016. Her Studies focused on sculpture, public art and social practice. Over the last three years she has created many art exhibitions, public works, facilitated art educational programming and worked collaboratively with many Canadian and international artists. She hopes to utilize her creative background to bring inspiration and enjoyment of the English language to her Russian students in Moscow.
